Poetry Electric: Celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King
Poetry Electric is a performance series at La MaMa fusing music, movement, sound, and dance with the spoken word. It is curated by William Electric Black, a seven-time Emmy Award winning writer, playwright (American Star, Welcome Home Sonny T), and faculty member in the dramatic writing program at the Tisch School of the Arts at NYU.
On Martin Luther King Day (Monday, January 20, 2014) Poetry Electric is presenting a special event in celebration of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, His Life, His Message, and His Call to Action for Peace and Justice. The evening will feature Eve Crusto, Verna Hampton, Melissa Murray-Mutch, Antoinette Nwandu, and a guest performance artist.
