The Past is Present: Long-Running Shows
With the constant stream of new shows opening in New York, we take the unusual step of looking backwards rather than forwards. Liz had the brilliant idea to focus an episode on long-running shows we’ve never seen. We visited plays and musicals that had been around from 10 to 40 years! There are some surprisingly spry works and some hopelessly dated ones. We make our recommendations and find the best deals for you on tickets.
Line — running since 1967 (3:00)
The Fantasticks — running since 1960 (11:00)
Perfect Crime — running since 1987 (21:30)
Mamma Mia — running since 2001 (30:17)
David gives a helpful price run down for all the shows (37:09)
Avenue Q — running since 2003 (40:44)
Liz is working on Tennessee Williams’ Collected Shorts directed by Matthew Lillard. Tickets can be purchased here.
