Theater in Edinburgh, Williamstown, and New York
We discuss adventures in theater beyond New York City, including the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the Williamstown Theatre Festival, and the Barrington Stage Company. We also review one last show from the New York International Fringe Festival, Fearless. The NYC Fringe is over but there’s still a chance to see Fearless. It is part of the Fringe Encores Series in September.

FESTIVALS DISCUSSED
Edinburgh Festival Fringe
The Edinburgh Festival Fringe, in Scotland’s capital city, is the largest arts festival in the world. Every August theater, comedy, cabaret, musical, and visual artists descend on this gorgeous city for a month of non-stop, wall-to-wall artistic expression. It’s wonderful and something everyone with an interest in art, especially theater and performance, should attend at least once.
Williamstown Theater Festival
Williamstown Theater Festival is a top-notch summer theater festival in Williamstown, Massachusetts, a college town nestled in the Berkshires. It attracts major writers, directors, and actors for high quality productions, often hoping for transfers to New York City stages.
Barrington Stage Company
Barrington Stage Company is another theater company located in the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts. Every summer it produces a season of new and revival productions.
