Jericho – Location, Tickets, Reviews
Jericho by Jack Canfora at 59E59 Theaters tells the story of a young woman whose troubled past comes to light around the Thanksgiving dinner table at the home of her new boyfriend’s Long Island family. ‘LA Law’ veteran Jill Eikenberry leads the cast through varied plot threads involving a struggling marriage, a call to religion, and the tragedy of 9/11.
The World Premiere of this play in 2011 at the New Jersey Repertory Theater was greeted warmly by critics (we included links to a couple of those reviews below), however, we found this production stifled by an uneasy cast and sloppy direction and the play’s empty moralizing crippling to its broad themes of trauma, forgiveness and global politics.

JERICHO is a mixed bag — one of those plays where you say there’s a good play in there but it needs more work, more tightening the parallels between the two focal characters and cutting back on less essential, more stereotypical figures like the Jewish mother.
