Improv Everywhere Mp3 Experiment
For more than ten years Improv Everywhere has been disturbing the peace with flash mobs, mass pranks, and self-described scenes of chaos and joy.
This weekend is the group’s tenth annual Mp3 Experiment, a massive participatory event. It promises to be one of their largest, craziest and most ambitious events to date. You can participate too!
How it works
Download an mp3 file from the Improv Everywhere website;
gather the items on the prop list (including a map, bubbles, and a dollar bill);
meet in the designated place at the designated time; and
press ‘play’ on the mp3 at the same moment as the thousands of people around you.
The mp3 will tell you what to do next.
No one knows what shenanigans will develop, but in recent years passersby have encountered a massive water gun fight with shower caps to match, spontaneous slow-dancing, and people with white sheets doing a “ghost-walk.”
The Experiment has grown so much in popularity that this year Improv Everywhere is doing it twice on Sunday.
