Early Buzz: The Library
Names usually associated with film and TV are joining forces at The Public Theater this spring: Oscar and Emmy-winning director Steven Soderbergh (film: Traffic, Erin Brockovich, Ocean’s Eleven) will direct the world premiere of The Library, written by Scott Z. Burns (film: Side Effects, Contagion, The Bourne Ultimatum), starring Chloë Grace Moretz (film: Hugo, Carrie, Kick Ass).
The drama centers on Caitlin Gabriel, the survivor of a deadly school shooting. Caitlin struggles to tell her side of the story to her parents and the authorities, as other versions of the events presented by the media paint her in a negative light.
As put by the Public, The Library is a “bold and chilling world premiere that asks us to examine our relationship to the truth and the lies that claim to heal us.”
