Matilda The Musical
Rambunctious children and their eponymous leader revolt against villainous adults in gothic style, Matilda The Musical is based on a Roald Dahl book.
This show received twelve 2013 Tony Award nominations and won four: Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Musical (Gabriel Ebert, who plays Mr. Wormwood); Best Book of a Musical (Dennis Kelly); Best Scenic Design of a Musical (Rob Howell) and Best Lighting Design of a Musical (Hugh Vanstone ).
The four actresses who play the title role in Matilda The Musical (Sophia Gennusa, Oona Laurence, Bailey Ryon and Milly Shapiro) were not nominated but received a special award for Tony Honors for Excellence in the Theatre.
