700 Sundays – Location, Tickets, Reviews
Official Opening Update
Billy Crystal’s revival of his autobiographical solo show, 700 Sundays, opens to critical acclamation.
Dubbed by New York Times “a love letter to the past,” the bittersweet, nostalgic comedy evokes roaring laughter as well as deep emotion from the audience. TheaterMania praised “Crystal’s ability to engage the audience,” which “[brings] us from guffaws to sobs and back in ways that never seem manipulative,” and The Hollywood Reporter said “more than the ample laughs, Crystal’s achievement here is in forging a tender connection to everyone who has experienced or even contemplated the loss of a parent.” One defect in this show, yes, it is not flawless, is that “it’s a little too slick”, to quote Talkin’ Broadway.
Original Post, October 17, 2013
