Classic Stage Company’s 2014-2015 Season Announcement
Classic Stage Company (CSC) is a theater company located in the East Village in New York City dedicated to re-imagining classic plays for modern audiences. It recently announced its 2014-2015 season:
The season kicks off in October 2014 with Rodgers and Hammerstein’s 1947 musical Allegro. Tony-winner and CSC Associate Director John Doyle will direct the production. It’s the second installment of CSC’s musical theater initiative, after last year’s Passions by Stephen Sondheim and James Lapin.
In January 2015, CSC will mount Hamlet, with Peter Sarsgaard (film: Blue Jasmin, Garden State) in the leading role. The director and additional cast are to be announced.
Then in April 2015, Chris Noth (TV: Sex and the City, The Good Wife) will star in Cristopher Marlowe’s Doctor Faustus.
Tickets to these productions may be purchased as a subscription to all three shows or individually. CSC notes that the “only way to guarantee your seats for productions and special events throughout our season” is to purchase a subscription. Subscriptions go on sale to the general public on March 31, 2014 at 12pm. Current subscription holders can renew their subscriptions starting March 17, 2014 at 12pm. Single tickets usually go on sale approximately 4 weeks prior to first performance.
