Early Buzz: Desperately Seeking The Exit

“A h*t show about a sh*t show” is potentially the greatest tagline for a show ever. It belongs to Peter Michael Marino and his one-man show Desperately Seeking The Exit, about Marino’s experience writing a musical based on the film “Desperately Seeking Susan” with music from Blondie. It cost $6 million, launched on London’s West End and . . . promptly closed. An experience that must have been awfully painful at the time but also great fodder for a one-man show.

Desperately Seeking The Exit premiered in New York in 2012, toured internationally, and was a hit at two consecutive Edinburgh Fringe Festivals. Marino is bringing the show back to the City for just one show at the Triple Crown Underground on Sunday, October 13, 2013. It’s pay-what-you-can at the door and there’s a full bar.
