Mike Daisey: All the Faces of the Moon – Location, Tickets, Reviews
Monologist Mike Daisey performs 29 monologues on 29 consecutive nights at Joe’s Pub at The Public Theater. The monologues are a mix of first and third person storytelling, sometimes drifting into the fantasy genre. Daisey describes the monologues as each a stand alone piece but also connected to the others by characters, plot, themes, images, motifs, and dreams.
Daisey performs the pieces sitting in front of an oil canvas by Larissa Tokmakova in the Public’s cabaret space so food and drinks are available. He joked on night #2 that one could tell the evening’s performance “is not high art because some of you are eating calamari.” The monologues are also available via iTunes and Daisey’s blog.
The Public is offering special gifts to anyone attending three or more performances. For example, anyone attending three performances will receive a limited edition poster featuring images of all 29 paintings onstage in each of the 29 monologues. For more information on the special gifts visit the Public’s website.
